The latest 1/35th announcements have just arrived from Black Dog. Once again, as has been the tendency in the last few months, the emphasis is on modern releases - Figures and Vehicle updates.

WOW!! A LOT of very useful items. I've been looking for some Hesco barriers for a while now.. and the pick-up set is nice.. a little bit too much leaving no room for anyone to stand back there, but still.. it looks nice. I guess I'll be buying all of these when they're out! Oh, my poor credit card
Thanks for the news, Jim

Maybe I'm nit-picking here, but their Hesco bastions don't look as accurate as those released by Accurate Armour (no pun intended )
http://www.accurate-armour.com/ShowProduct.cfm?manufacturer=0&category=4&subcategory=276&product=1959
Looks like they have used interlaced wire mesh for the master whereas the real one is a welded wire mesh...

I guess you're right, Frenchy.. but I didn't know AA makes Hesco barriers. The only ones I've seen before are by MAIM (Modern Armies In Miniature) sold by this German shop:
http://www.sockelshop.de/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=279&products_id=28812&osCsid=201a7547df970fe1e7e380f09951cebb
They look good and the price is reasonable, but the shipping is way too high.
For me, I usually go with whichever is the easiest for me to get.. and has the lowest shipping. I'm afraid I sometimes have to give up accuracy for practicality and cost
But those AA barriers look pretty good, thanks for pointing them out for me.

Hello,
Pro Art Models also make some of them. They have 6 sets with different sized barriers.

Yes, Henk.. I saw those ET barriers in the news section, and I'm waiting for them to be released.. and maybe see a review or something like that to see how they go together and what they look like when built up and filled. If they're not difficult to put together, they may be the best option out there. They're small, light weight, you can order many of them and then fill them up.

Nice to see something on RSOV. But the set looks incomplete.
The gas can holders looks nothing like the ones seen in photos:
(posted by Frenchy in this thread)
Also the shape of plate on the rollcage needs to be adressed. It seems that on non-demo vehicles it looks like this:

Hummm....this month must be barrier month
We went from nothing to 5 manufactures making the almost overnight.
Based on what I hear here it appears to be AA having the best and most cost effective units??
Rounds Complete!!

..here's an easy (and cheap) way to build your own Hesco-baskets:
http://www.modellboard.net/index.php?topic=39809.0
Yes, it's in german, but the pictures are unmistakable; all you need is some
- alloy mesh (1,5-2mm square)
- styrofoam
- gauze
- adhesive tape or plaster
- white glue (for the gauze)
- superglue
- sand and stones

Not much RSOV specific equipment included in the set--mostly bags, packs and ammo boxes one can get elsewhere;why not some new tyres or weapons or wire cutters normally seen on the side of the right fender? Yes, there are some useful pieces but there seems to be quite a bit of "generic" filler items.something I have found in many aftermarket "update" sets . Black Dog figures also seem to have the long, gaunt Nosferatu look to them. I know most combat soldiers are young thin types, but these figures seem a bit too tall and thin--they just look a bit creepy to me! Perhaps they look better painted--do not believe I have ever seen any painted up.
