i Bill , a small point in your review , which on the whole is very good . The parent co that produced the original Gaz kits was Toko , and Zvezda took over the moulds when they went bust. cheers ian

Thanks, Sandy, both for the compliment and the information. I guess that makes the Zvezda kit even creakier than I thought, LOL!

If the Zvezda kit is really that old, then it's not bad for it's age. I'm still really looking forward to the MiniArt GAZ trucks regardless of their price.

I have the Zvezda GAZ-AAA, and as you say, it's not a BAD kit, especially as it's usually around $15 while these MA ones are going for $50-$60 here in the States. If you add the MA wheel set, that's still far below in price.

But there's no comparison in terms of detail and crispness, plus you get two dudes to put in the front seat!

Hi bill , I search through my stash and found that the kit was marketed by Eastern Express as well . So the moulds have stood the test of time .
I have 3 of the new Gas kits on the to do pile . Ready for my Ice road diorama . cheers ian
