Hello!
Im currently building Dragon's 6360 Kit. Panzer IV F2 G in 1/35 scale. Id like to model it after the 2nd SS Panzer Div. "Das Reich"
-Would Winterketten be acceptable for this tank in Kharkov 1943?
-If so, is Friulmodel my only option for Winterketten?
Thanks!

Ken;
Hi!
Winterketten on a IV-G at Kharkov?... Yes. Where to get them... I would get some from one of the DML StuG III kits which have them (or from folks who may have those Dragon tracks and may want to sell or trade them). Probably would be at least as cheap to simply buy one of those StuG III F8 or Pz.III N or StuG III initial w/ winterketten kits and swap those tracks for the set you have in the IV-G - cheaper I think than buying a Fruil set. If you did this, you would have a nice StuG or Pz III N kit with standard tracks.
Just a suggestion! In fact, I am planning myself to get one of those later IV-G kits with schurzen and fit some W-K onto it from a Pz III N kit...! I'm not sure that I'll be claiming it's a "Kharkov tank", but it will be a "Russian" fall-winter tank!

Thanks for the reply!
I think I will pick up a Stug III here soon then.
Got the tank primed today so its going to need some running gear soon.
I found out that Mr Surfacer 500 in rattle can form works quite well and doesnt hide details like many have been worried about.

hey Ken,
I have several Winterketten magic track that I won't use and you can have them if you want them. I normally use Friulmodel. PM me your address and I can send them to you.

Ive found out that Mr. Sufacer 500 really sucks up paint.
Its going to take 3 coats of model master enamel to cover the hull...
