I have painted a figure in oils, acryllics and enamels. The acryllics are very shiney and will need a coat of flat coat. I have spent alot of enjoyable hours on this project and have never sprayed flat coat over oils before. Does it work? I dont want to chance flat coat over the oils if it will affect them.
Personally i think it will if the oils are given a long time to cure, but want to make sure before i chance it.
any opinions or experince in this area are more than gratefully received.

I have sprayed Humbrol flat over oils and never had a probem....made sure I left it about a month before I did it though!

Howdy mar6874,

Teacher's right...whoa, haven't said that phrase since my school days!

Anyway, the acrylic flat coat is pretty tame stuff. I think what Teacher's saying is the oils require a significantly longer dry-time and need to expel gases in order to dry. Sealing the oils in before they have the proper amount of time to dry might affect the final result.

Tread.
