Hi there
I tried logging onto Armorama at work last week to show my colleagues what's been taking up all my spare time.
When I tried to show them some of my pics (Yeah! Showing off!! ) and photos from other members that had really impressed me, I had a real shock!!!... they all looked terrible!
The pics were really compressed and full of "artefacts".
The PC in question is used for "high-end" graphics work, so its resolution and colour settings are on full. Is there a reason why stuff off the Internet should look so bad?
Any ideas would be great.
Cheers
Rowan

Merlin - some workstations setup to deal with Vector graphics don't deal well with photo type formats ie JPEG or GIF images. Is it a CAD workstation ?

Hi Chuck
Not really... it's all-purpose, but if anything it's optimized for bitmap images.
It's running AOL (hiss.. boo!! :-) ), but I was stunned at just how cr*p everyone's photos looked.
What occurred to me is that maybe some folks always see stuff that way...
all the best

AOL! ...and to think I use to love it.
Jim
Thanks Jim!! :-)
Maybe you should add our own "AOL Dartboards" to the Cafe Press items!!
Is this worth a "General Alert" to Armorama AOL users? They might not know what they've been missing...
Thanks again

Eeek! And to think I too used to use it. Never really liked it, it was one of the only ISP's available to me back in the day. What a dog it was on system resources.
