Here is a little break from scratch building and a comeback of good old mono-coloured panzers. Afrika corps, old, rusty, ugly and chipped were the atributes on my mind when i was buying the model. The fitting and details are perfect, as expected from dragon. Base layer is a mix of HU matt 87 and HU matt white, and every layer after it has a bit more white in it. I am very satisfied with the result... BUT, i want to hear what do you think, so please comment.
Best regards!
Stefan

I'm loving your start. Good clean building and I like the way that humbrol sits. Never used Humbrol enamels before but they look good. May have to give them a go.
Can you confirm which Dragon model # you are building? also, did the PE parts for the front armour come in the smart-kit or are you using some aftermarket parts?

Good clean build so far, I would have used a dark base coat and added the desert camo onto of that.
I have often used that kind of enamel on my models but never as a base coat, it will be interesting to see

This is Dragon Pz III Ausf. J, kit #6394. It's this one:

Model is completely out of box, no aftermarkets, and PE came with the smart kit.
Best regards!

Hi
This truly is one of Dragons little gems, what they do best, and as you have done, can quite rightly be built straight out the box without having to revert to anything after-market PE etc. to produce a lovely example, which you've shown here.
I'm looking forward to building mine....one day.
Great build. Hope the painting goes equally as well.
