Hi guys & gals:
I just purchased verlindens dukw accessories and started thinking about the different color possibilities. It comes with 55 gallon drums, jerry cans, tied up tarps, and crates. I was going to paint the 55g drums and the jerry cans in olive drab, but was wondering if maybe they would have been different colors to indicate the different substances they held. It would make for a little more visual interest if there was some color variation.
Does anyone know if jerry cans & 55 gallon drums would have been any color other than olive drab for the US? I would appreciate any insight.
Thanks a bunch!
John

The only other color I've seen them in is olive drab.

OD is about the only color I've ever seen them in, too. The only way to tell what's in them is the stenciling...of course now adays you do get different color barrels occasionally.

hi mate, yes OD was the color but if you go to my gallery and look at the GMC fuel tanker you will see how to get variations in color to achieve a different look.
a hint too. Dark green will do for jerry cans too.
