Friends,

just another week and a half or so, and the Campaign starts. At this moment I'm planning and sketching my own entry and I'm collecting materials. Offcourse I didn't start building...that has to wait until November 1 !

I'll be building a shadowbox about General Urquharts HQ in the Hartenstein Hotel. At this moment I'm quite busy drawing the layout. You can see the floormap below.

I'll be building the scene where Urquhart gathered his remaining Generals and tells them about the retreat over the Rhine, that's is scheduled for the night to come.....Operation "Berlin". A balanced lighting will give this shadowbox a special character.

Where are you guys working on....got any plans, drawings, sketches or stories ...... I'm eager to know ..... share it with us !

Im doing some research at the time being. Still not sure what kind of scene and setting I will opt for. My best bet til now is this kit:

Should be Frost and his men hence the umbrella. If I can get my hands on this kit I will reset the scene in second/third floor building. Perhaps with a wounde german captive and a dead para.

I am not seeing a campaign folder I can sign up in? Eagle said this deal is kicking off in a week? I was planning on next year? Did I miss something? I am going to build a King Tiger rolling into Oosterbeek.

What's up?

Let me know.
Thanks,
Shaun

Shaun,

I fear you have missed some of our topics on this matter.... I know we had a few in the recent past :-)

Over here you can sign up... It's in Dutch, but the translation in English is on the bottom of the page :

Remember Market Garden

I hope to find your name on the participants list soon.... if it does "WELCOME ON BOARD"

This will be a Campaign to Remember.

Ola People

Right at this moment I`m working out the sketches for "Urquhearts Attic" as the title of the dio will be. Indeed as you all have guessed the scene Will depict the Attic where Roy Urquheart spend 12 hours because of the germans running around in that area.

Sorry no sketches online yet but they`ll come soon.

I am still at the visualisation stage, it will be a dio, it's gonna have an airborne jeep in it,possibly an ammo carrier and I have a 1/35th 17 pounder which I am going to use (possibly) figures are going to be scratchbuilds/conversions with at least one Dutch figure in it...not a civilian, and im not saying anything else.... #:-) Jim

Well - I am not as far as some of you have gotten physically, mentally my mind is running right along.
I am tossing a bunch of ideas around.
One that has REALLY intrigued me is this image

Something about it struck me. I also like the idea of scratch building a tricycle.

Danny, I realy want to see the diorama when it is finished, nice idea to make the Hartenstein hotel. I'm now thinking of making a street in Arnhem with a Sturmgeschutz and some SSers on it. They idea is to let them search for the two Brithish General's (scene from a Bridge to Far). The challenge for me is to make the front of the houses in Arnhem and the street. When i'm done with thinking I'm gonna draw a blueprint of it, I will try to send it as a topic!!
Good Luck with the Campaign Danny!!!

This is the figure that I will be using as General Urquhart. It's the Hornet BH17 figure representing a British Brigadier.

For my RMG topic, I'll be depicting a Sdkfz 250/1 of Graebner's command as they start their fateful advance on the bridge.

Does anyone know if the armored column was accompanied by infantry on foot, or should I just load the back with some plaSStic troopers?

Thanks,
Mika

A lot of the pics I have in the books show Not only Packed vehicles full of soldiers but also a lot of infantry on foot. SO I don`t think it would be a weird idea to put infantry on foot too.

But this is just my guess I don`t know everything on this subject
