I am starting to work on a LCM-3 to go on my Dragon Wagon on a timber crib.

Two questions.
1. How was the crib timbers held together? Just the weight of the load?

2. How was the standard equipment for the LCM-3 carried? I can't see the 50 cals and gun shields staying installed, so would they be laying on the deck or crated for transport to the Rhine River crossing.

If you look at the timbers in the photo you can see several vertical members that seem to be tying the baulks together. There _has_ to be some structure tyingthem together as anhy shift of the load would displace loose baulks and then the whole load would end up in the gutter.

You're right Paul....I stand corrected (I should have paid more attention to the picture I've posted )

Anyway...Here are two pics showing the timbers. The way they are secured is not that obvious
