Posted this in AFV section, but I thought I might get a better response here.
I have a question about the KV-1 in the following picture (right at the top of the page)
http://beute.narod.ru/Beutepanzer/su/kv/kv-1/kv-1c/kv-1c.htm
In the Tankograd book it says that and early version T-34 drivers vision port is fitted over the periscope right next to the drivers vision port on the KV-1.
Is that really from a T-34? I am having a very hard time finding a picture of a T-34 with a drivers vision port cover like that. I also thought that maybe it was the machine gun cover from a Panzer 4, as the restof the stuff (gun, coupola) were thaken from a Panzer 4.
Thanks in advance.

No, the periscope casting looks like every other KV-1 periscope casting in the book .And thats a standard KV mg mount .Maybe they mean the internal vision device came from a T 34 ?

Now that I look at it again, between the shadows and the angle it makes it look like something is there. I wonder what they are taling about then?

Might be a mix up in the translation of the photo caption .
Do you have the Trumpeter kit of this beast and does it come with the T 34 exhaust fan cover on the turret roof ?

No I'm working on the HobbyBoss 1/48 kit, which basically looks like a scaled down version of the Trumpeter kit, and yes it loks like it has the armored dome on the turret.
