I have been trying to use more washes but I seem to be running into a problem with the flow of the wash. I coat the model with future and I use the AK washes but they don't seem to flow, and it seems like I am painting the wash on more than just letting to go naturally.
Any ideas? Should I switch my gloss coat?
Thanks,
Jeff

Future is the most versatile gloss coat. I wouldn't switch. The AK washes are superb products. If it isn't flowing, try thinning the wash out a little more with some mineral spirits.
Or try wetting the model with mineral spirits before applying the wash to help it spread. Also, a bit unconventional, but I often do thin washes over flat coats with great results.

I find I always have to thin the AK washes. I use some general purpose white spirit.

Today i tried the AK Wash from the OIF/OEF set. I shaked the container well before but the colour seems to be very "thick" for a wash. Even for a pin wash it could be a Little bit too heavy. After waiting for a minute it becomes much thinner and lighter. Anybody else got these problems too or am i just acting like a fool? It seems that this wash shouldn't be taken right from the container (right after shaking it).

I use enamel washes over Future. At high pressure and thinned 20:1(thinner:paint), it turns out pretty well. For pin washes, I use the same mixture, but apply it by hand.
Another product you may want to consider is artist's inks.

Hello,
I also can only recommend to thin AK/MIG-Washes down. For me, they are also a little on the thick side out of the container. To be honest: this product gives me no result I could not have had also achieved with some quality oil paints and white spirit. It is certainly useable if you thin it down, but I don`t see a necessity to introduce it into my regular used products.
Best Regards
Dennis
