I ran across this link on a gaming site for Battlefield 1942. Is this a real production vehicle or some kitbashers creation? I know Stalin was a bit crazy but I am having a hard time believe anyone would have thought this tank was a good idea.

The vehicle is completely bogus, though still cool looking. Even in the late '30s, the Soviet engineers were telling Stalin that the multiturret vehicles weren't working out, to the point where the T-35 was recommended to be kept out of front line units (though that didn't happen).
Still, cool piece of modelling.

Hi guys,
this is totally bogus, allt he way through. I heard it was a MODEL built on a dare, not sure of that.
Look at the references if nothing else, and the fact that all three vehicles produced were completely destroyed, so no real evidence!

The thing I am seeing about it is that turning it would have been impossible. With the weight being so high and it being so long it would have only turned while in motion, and extremely slowly at that. If it tried to turn when stopped, the ground pressure versus the traction would have caused it just to chew ruts in the ground. I just don't see this as a practical vehicle at all.

I am surprised they missed the Land Aircraft carrier version
Many slightly shorter vehicles, with flat planked tops. They would drive into position, and park end to end, creating a mobile airfield... #:-)

And I thought that the tank we designed to breech the siegfried line that sits in front of the Patton museum at FT. Knox was a little crazy.

Well, at least I am known as the "russian tank guy"...crazy Ivan?
I also thought it was a cool design, I bought in on it when it first surfaced about 2-3 years ago. Makes me want to do something like it with the T-35's I have...anything would have to help those poor things....
