I just eyeball it,I use a plastic syringe and add just enough so that it looks right.

Don't need to thin it, it will airbrush right out of the bottle

All the Vallejo Air acrylic colours I've had could always use some thinning due to having a bit thick consistency. Either with their own thinner, distilled water, hommeade "gunk" or such.
Im more of a spray thin twice instead of once and thick type of airbrush user though.
Gloss/semi-gloss varnish usually always goes on best & smoothest with an airbrush.
YMMV ofc. Try out some thinning ratios on a spare piece of plasticard or other non absorbent substrate and see what your airbrush and you like the best.
