Hey all. Have neared completion of my m4a1 which has been finished in a white wash and is quite battle worn/scarred and loaded up etc etc. Now the prob I'm having is that the white wash is still mostly intact over the most all the Sherman, except the trafficked areas on turret and hull, whereas ther are significant areas of rust also, which would indicate heavy exposure, and also there is water streaks etc. NOW, would there be more OD showing through the wash on a tank which has produced the rust as mentioned? Hard to kinda explain this succinctly... Not saying that the tank looks a rustbucket, but wonder if ther should be more than the scratches marks etc that are over the hull? Just that the rust streaks show up maybe too well on the white?

the white wash would have alot of OD showing through due to the fact that the paint was applied in the field,in a hurry with brushes, rags ect and in some cases lime was used
and this would lift Od paint off the white paint/lime would start to wear pretty quickly
so think about the front of the tank lower hull ect
