Recycled it may be, but the old Italeri M113 was a decent kit - miles better than the Tamiya one!

Seem to have made a small spelling mistake: "Death rides a truck" should read "Death rides a track".

The last configuration seems to lack any defining unit markings, but it was an actual fielded configuration. Don't know how common it was for the mod to be made to US Army vehicles, but it was a core component of the FANK mechanized squadrons.

Maybe, but why? The Academy M113A1 ACAV with RR is better detailed and has more accessory items, plus five pretty good figures. The Italeri interior is missing major pieces and has some major issues elsewhere.

After looking at the sprues, it looks like an exact copy of the sprues found in the Revell M113A1 US Army kit (haven't seen the Italeri kit) and the Academy M113 Vietnam Version kit.
I have to agree with Gino, the Academy kit is by far the best offering. A lot more parts and much better detail.
Personally, if I bought this new kit; it would only be for the decals. Those tracks are also a bit difficult to work with.
The lack of crew members also makes the Acacdemy kit far more appealing.

After studying some sprue shots I agree this is a rehash of Italeri's previous M113 kit with the weapons sprue from the Academy M113A1 kit. I'm kinda surprised they just did not rebox the whole Academy kit as they done with other Academy offerings.
I do not know what's will be charged overseas but the retail price for the Italeri kit in the USA is set at $55.00 Which in my opinion is not much of a bargain considering you get more with the Academy kit for USA retail of $26.00
All the best,

Tom
Having built both (and the Academy one) I beg to differ!
For me the Italeri/Revell kit is the worst M113 in 1/35.
Cheers,
Christophe
