ok so i i have had a bit of a break due to air brush being down last night i put my second coat of future on my M48 (that has od green base coat of vallejo air)went and applied a few thin coats of vallejo matt that kind of had a dusty white tent to it. (unthinned at 20 psi)i have put on thin layer of filter p245 brown for dark green (sin)making sure not to make it a wash.it still has a bit of a frosty gray look to it will have have to keep layering the filter

"what went wrong?" The question is, what went wrong?. I'm not understanding how the title relates to the post.

Craig why did you apply future and then a matt finish? I ask as you would normally apply future in order to apply decals. as for the finish that occured I wonder if you had some cleaning solution or water in the brush when you appleied the matt varnish.

I don't believe so and I am more inclined to think some residue from the clean up stayed behind in the brush and was then shot onto the model when you sprayed the matt finish.

Hi,
matt coat is the reason - this sometimes happens when you put on too much of it. It has to be thinned first and applied in thin layers.

I have heard of adding a new future cote can cure this but I have never tried it myself. I would suggest a new thread titled Matt cote problem and then you will likely get a lot more feedback.

More filters might help, but it might as well darken the underlying color too much. Drying time of filters - depends on what is the base - for oils, I leave at least 24 hours, acrylics should be much faster, but have never used them.

Craig,

Seriously, take everything outside and let it sit in the sun.
