Hey, that looks great! Fine job on all accounts from the gear to the kitbashing to the paint job! The nameplate really adds distinction to the piece.

Great work Jiri. The finish looks sublime. Nice to see this seldom seen vehicle modelled as well.

Your VLRA looks like a french special forces version with the opened cab and weapons I have seen at 13 RDP (Regiment de Dragons Parachutistes) regiment. Very well made, congratulations.

Hello,

Look at the link about the build of the model at the beginning of this post.

This is a photoetched Eduard reference.
http://www.eduard.com/store/Eduard/Photo-etched-parts/Photo-etched-set/Miscellaneous/1-35/Camouflage-netting-US-1-35.html

There are also camouflage netting in decals from Echelon.

I used gauze compresses, it's easier to work but not really realistic.

Dear romix1944,

alex is right. Finally I used the Eduard´s PE camouflage set. I painted it desert yellow and place it on the model in several layers so that it looks (at least a little bit) like a crumpled camo net.
However the model was originally finished with the Echelon´s decal camouflage, but then I started not to like it tore it down and started again with Eduard´s PE.

I´ll send some closer-view photos later today

PS: Thanks for the positive comments to everyone

Very very nice model of one of my favorites vehicles (and we can wait loooong time for a plastic VLRA).
great detailling and paint job.

Just two things, some markings could have be great and i thinks (from photos i found) that the VLRA used by elite units in Astan are all long based one.

Anyway a paratrooper figure could be a must add on your excellent model.
thanks for sharing.

the first picture shows the Echelon camouflage net which I decided not to use at the end and replaced it with the Eduard´s PE set (on the second pic.)

You´re absolutely right, 99% photos from A-stan show the long version, but there are still some...

Hi Jiri
Thanks for the pics which are from the 13RDP elite unit (LRRP unit). I don't know if these photos are from Astan operations but it looks usual VLRA not the one you did which is equiped like 1RPIMA ones.
Anyway a great model of a rarely seen subject.
For information , this little company sells modern french marking (too late for your VLRA):
http://ffsmc-productions.com/product.php?id_product=33

I have absolutly no link with seller but the product is very nice.

Dear Stephane,

thanks a lot for the comment. No way I am a french forces specialist so it´s possible that a vehicle in this configuration has not been deployed to Afg. Whatever, I´ll present it as a sci-fi project

Thanks for the ffscm site as well. Honestly I never heard of them, but will definately keep in mind for future projects.
