Question - What is a good material for power pole wire? I've tried some string but it looks lumpy. 2# extra limp fly fishing leader hangs crappy. I need 38" x how many wires fed an electrified european home in WW2.
Question 2- How many wires led from pole to house in a european home in 44?

Hi David,
I have always used sewing thread for wires.
If you need to stiffen them up,a coat of diluted white glue will do it.The other questions I can't help with.

Fishing line should work ... if you have enough tension holding it. There is a sag normally with the real thing, so it doesn´t have to be that tight. You could also use thin copper wire or even thin plastic rod.
Any houses Ive seen connected to a transformer pole had just 1 cable.

Plus Model do a range of small diameter lead wire that is pretty good for that sort of thing.

I use .25 mm soldering wire, hangs naturally, but is very fragile.

As Frank said, 1 wire to the house is ok.

potentially guitar strings my work, the smaller ones. You could get a nice firm bend that 'stays'

ok..thanks..I'll do the white glue. I'm hoping to find a better quality thread at a sewing center, a modeler friend suggested. The white glue is great idea, I use it for everything else.

I suggest using the wire which is funnily enough found in the indooor portion of a phone line as they are very fine wires.
