Some of you may note the site is loading initially a lot faster. This is because I have killed our fancy Ad server software on most of the pages as it was slowing everything down. No sense having a speedy server that has too many things being requested of it.

As most of our advertisers weren't taking advantage of the stats and the login abilities I don't think they will mind. I may just change the rotating banner feature in lieu of a more permenant sponsor banner (or mini-banners) anyways. Speed is better than function in this case.

Actually,Jim, my vomputer has slowed down recentley...by a large margin...BUT if everybody else has faster computers I don't mind

eh, don't worry about that. Once I get all your personal info it will speed up again.

I don't know if this increased speed I'm seeing on my system if from my recent OCing or because of the tweaking Jim did. In any event, I can definitely see a big jump in page draws and the like.

It slowed down big time over here .... Since a week or two now.... Sometimes the lastest post page doesn't load at all.

I have to admit I must come back at my previous post ..... I typed only very short while ago.... half an hour or so.....

since I typed the previous post the speed is excellent again.... only the hame page loads a bit slow, but the latest post, the reply button....excellent again......

Some users may actually have the whole page cached in which case it's still running the old banner querying and such. Also this is still going on on some of the theme/focus pages (like the Diorama focus). It's only the Trident Hobbies banner at this point though and I will change that over on those pages as well.

Well, don't want to go against the flow, but I've found that speed has actually increased... I have been tweaking the 'puter recently I admit, but page loading time is virtually nil here...Jim

My computer was very slow and it was taking for ever for the site to come up. I log out and relogged in and now its lighting fast. If you are having problems try what I did. Log out and log back in.
