Good morning guys!

What do you all recommend for a good type of airbrush cleaner to get the paint out of the airbrush when you are done painting?

Acryls: I spray windshield cleaner and then warm water with the addition of a few drops of dish soap
Enamels: I spray laquer thinner (or another enamet thinner) and then warm water with the addition of a few drops of dish soap
Future: I spray a solution of 90% water and 10% ammonia

Hi there Tapper

Sooner or later I end up using Cellulose Laquer) Thinners. It's equally good for enamels and acylics.

Basically, my motto is "If in doubt, soak it in Cellulose". Well it's not... 'cause I just thought of it... but it sounds good! :-)

No, seriously, Cellulose (laquer) is pretty much the strongest stuff you'll find and should clean most stuff out of the airbrush. But use plenty of ventillation...

All the best

I use iso-propanol (rubbing alcohol) to clean my airbrush. About the only paint I use is Tamiya acrylics.
For cleaning out the Future in the airbrush I use for that, I just leave it in where it is and just put a wire in the holes of the brush to keep them open. It's what I would describe as a "disposable airbrush" that cost me about $5CDN on sale at a local tool shop!

After painting, I run Windex with ammonia though the brush, then chase that with windshield washer liquid. Store tips in Windex.
