I'm finally calling this one done. I tried to do a figure to show the size of one of these tanks. This is only my second figure that I've done in about ten years, not the greatest.
Here are a couple of pics of the finished model. More pics on my blog.

A couple of close ups.
Thanks for looking .

Now that, is good rust.
You nailed that post conflagration rust. The model immediately says "I was on fire." It's a very subtle difference I think between that and rust from age, you've made a heck of a dio there. I also like how to took the time to give the ends of the fingerjoints in the armour different hues. Helps give a neat impression of grain in the steel.

Thank you for the kind words. That is exactly the look I was going for. This was actually painted a couple of years ago but I was unhappy with it. So after trying new things and techniques I re painted the JT. She looks much better in her new rust.
Thanks again for the comment.

Fantastic build Rob. The terrain detail is a work of art, it really shows of the weight of one of these.

Well, Rob, you know you're the guy who's cracked the code for all the rest of us on "how to" when it comes to rusty finishes!
So it's no surprise that this one has such a fantastic paint job. The ash-white-gray details really set this one off.
However, you're presentation and vignette are equally well done. The textures on the torn-up earth are particularly nice and the white "warning" paint on the corner and along the edges of the tracks make for an interesting detail that sets the timing of the scene.
I really like this piece.

Nice, I like the transition from the factory paint up front to the burnt out rear, nicely done.

I don't think I've ever seen a better "burned out wreck" build anywhere.
