I'm building this at the moment but I can't figure the correct way to attach parts H6 and H5 onto the guns base in the turret so the gun can be sandwiched between them. Either I'm missing something or the instructions aren't very clear but the photo instructions showing these parts don't seem to match the actual parts (I've tried to find pictures but can't find any clear ones). When I put H5 like it says onto the gun it's a different way around to the part in the instructions, though H6 looks the same.

I think I'll most probably need help on one or two other things also but any help on the position/placement of these parts would be most appreciated.

Hi David,
There is no 'H' sprue in this kit, so I'm assuming you mean parts N5 and N6.?

From what I can see in the instructions; 'N5' sits under the breach and includes part of the 'basket' frame.
The front end of the part just slots into the cut out on the square plate ( the same way parts 'N3' and 'N4' fit).
'N6' fits on top of the breach but is joined to the square plate at it's middle point.

I've just about finished building this kit, but can't comment on fit problems of these 2 parts as I didn't use them. They can't been seen on the finished kit and are not essential for the gun's working.

Grant.

PS: Part 'O8' (front of the turret roof) ..If you've not already fit it?
The instructions and the finished kit example photos show this part upside down.

Thanks Grant but I wonder if your kit is slightly different to mine. There's definitely a H sprue with H5 and H6 on there.

Parts N3 and N4 attach to N2 and N1. Part H6 looks like it might be the correct way around but H5 on my instructions looks like it might be the wrong way around with the grooved part on the inside which attaches to H3. It's a bit hard to describe and I can't post any pics at the moment.

I also can't see a part O8 and there's no O sprue in my kit.

Hi David,
Yes, my mistake. I assumed you were talking about the 'Henschel' Kingtiger kit 6303. But I now realise you're busy with the 'Porsche' Kingtiger kit 6302.
These are the 2 parts you mean?:

I have this kit also (6312 without zim). I'll dig it out later and have a look at these parts.

Grant.

Edit:
OK, I've just had the kit out and put those parts together without glue:

I see what you mean, H5 doesn't look like the instruction image. But the 'hollow' sides should face outwards.
It looks like yet another instructions mistake. These Dragon 'photo' instructions are known to be pretty awful.
They should carry a warning, 'Proceed with caution'

Grant.
