Hi All,
I thought I would share my Tankmania 2s3. This is a really nice kit but I found the barrel needed replacing as it didn't seem quite right - I scratchbuilt a replacement! I noticed the vision blocks were not painted - they are now but I have not had a chance to update the photos
Any comments welcome
Best regards
Ian Garnett

Nice job on this Ian- the scratch-built barrel sure does look well- what did you build it from?

Hi Karl and Roy, thanks for the comments,
Roy, I did not end up getting a turned barrel - it was just too expensive!! Sorry about that.
Karl, I used parts of the Type 83 152mm barrel and the AS90 155mm barrel. The muzzle brake is from the Type 83. I think the kit one is underscale.
I've just finished the 2s3's little brother: the 2S1, also as an Iraqi vehicle. I hope to post some pics shortly.
Best regards
Ian

Wow! I wish I have such howitzer on my shelf Very good job is done!
Nevertheless, I guess the chipping is a bit exaggerate.

Very nice job !
I want one. I am sure that is an expensive
resin kit. Maybe Zvesda, Trumpeter or HobbyBoss
will do one.
Thanks for sharing that beauty.

Hi Andreas - this was a really nice build - the tankmania kits are awesome - superb casting and excellent fit. As I mentioned the only issue was the barrel. I would highly ecommend it!!

Hi,
that's correct, but the kit have many errors, sorry Pavel.
The scale is not correct 1:35, the turret have errors and the drive to and so on, unfortunately.
But the kit is the only one. Here some pics from my model.
