vallejo panzer aces colors and glazes

Hi people,
I am returning to modelling after a long break and have been gifted the boxed range of Vallejo panzer aces paints.
I don't have clue how to use all these colors and different hues of the same colors.
So its a learning curve :-D
But my first question is - what is mat glaze and mat medium for? As the set already includes varnishes they can't be for that - can they?

Although I confess that I've never used their glaze and matt medium, I do love their Model Color paints.

Model Color and Panzer Aces is basically the same...just more different colors in the Panzer Aces line, more specific uniform colors, but they act and behave just like the Model Color paints.
