Can anyone answer a Bundeswehr Aladin question for me, please? When the Aladin UAV is used in Afghanistan, from which vehicle is it deployed? I'm trying to choose a vehicle for a diorama. Do I want the Fuchs, the Wolf, the Unimog, or the big MAN truck? Thanks guys!

I believe since it is used for Recce it is stored in a Fennek before launching but there is also a Recce version of the Dingo as well.

There is a 1/35 Fennek made by Y-Serie but I don't know the accuracy or level of detail.

Y-Modelle makes a 1/35 Dingo.

The Aladin drone is deployed from the Fennek and started by hand, the Bundeswehr is saving money whenever they can.
Here is a picture of the control unit:

Hi jphillips,

I definitly can`t say a good word about the Y-Modelle Fennek.
It`s too expensive (80 Euros) and more a toy than a model. O.k.
it´s made of resin so that most of the clumsy details might be removed and rebuild.

There are rumors about a Fennek coming out of Asia in styrene but I wouldn`t hold my breath for it.

How hard would it be for Revell-Germany to re-tool and change the molds from their 1/72 Fennek to create a 1/35 Fennek?

Even Eduard could re-tool to create a 1/35 PE set from their 1/72 PE Fennek set.

Yes, I was hoping for that, but we'll see. It's unfortunate, I saw a very nice figure of a soldier throwing the Aladin into the air, which would make a great diorama. I think it might have been a Black Dog figure, UMM Models USA sells all sorts of cool Bundeswehr figures, accessories, etc. I even drew some German crosses and flags to print as decals for the UAV - they're tiny! - and was shopping around for some other stuff. Maybe I'll put this idea on the back burner, for now.
