Hey all,
I'm currently working on a Late Production Tiger I with Zim that I plan on painting in tri-color camo, and have just gotten a Panzer IV Ausf E that I'm planning to paint in Panzer Grey. Would those 2 tanks, in those colors, have ever been together on the same battlefield, and thus putting them together in a single diorama be historically accurate? If not, would it just be colors that would be the issue?
If these 2 tanks are not 'right' together, what would be a better 'match' for the late production TIger I, in a tank or other armored vehicle, for the same diorama? I really would prefer to get some ideas from you guys here, rather than have to buy a reference book (funds are getting tight, too many models/pains/tools). If I absolutely MUST have a reference book, what would be a good book to get for Tiger Is and other vehicles together?

Curt
This seems a highly unlikely combo to me. There were not that many PZ IV E manufactured, and most had been destroyed by mid '43. I recall seeing a photo of a ko'd E at Kursk but it appeared to have been painted Pz yellow. A Pz IV G or H would be much more likely.

I have seen late Tigers with late Stug III's, Kubelwagon's,or the late Panzer IV's with the schurzen on the turret, not sure of the letter. But those would all be a good match.

Thanks guys. I may have to rethink my diorama plans...they are far off, regardless. I may go for a IV with the extra armor, if that will make it more historically correct.
