Hi guys my first post here. I'm building the Dragon Tiger (P) and have reached this point you see on the links below. Very straitforward build and easy but i managed to do something very stupid. I chose to use the Eduard PE zimerit set as i thought it was the easy way out. (I hate zimerit). I did something wrong because after a day or two, some PE parts got deformed and opened up at some points around the edges. Maybe it was the Zap glue? Any info on the matter would be very appriciated. Another issue are the DS tracks. Can they be glued or i must handle them like most vinyl tracks? And finally are the painting instructions provided by Dragon accurate enough or must i start looking for profiles? I know i must have given you a headache with all these questions from my first post. Sorry about that.
PS: I apologise for my bad English, they'll come back to me enentually i hope....

Glue would be the first guess regarding the PE issues...sometimes if the PE has some tension in it that can result in it shearing over time depending. Regluing is your only option.
DS Tracks are designed to be glued together so you shouldn't have a problem there. The kit-supplied finishing guide is accurate enough (there was only 1 vehicle created and it's well photographed), so you should be good there as well as a guide. HTH!

Thank you very much for the answer Bill. I tried to fix the PE problems, had some success but far from perfect. I also gave the kit a dark grey preshading and next step is to paint it. I hope i dont mess up there too.

Hi John,
Nice looking build...this is kit 6210 I presume? It has some details missing, like the right rear escape hatch, and screen for the rear most engine intakes, plus maybe a few others I don't remember. The Premium edition (kit # 6352)corrected these issues.
As for camo, it seems correct. The instructions call out a 3 tone scheme.
Here are some photos to help:
The first photo shows the camo scheme, not the greatest profile but should help you...
The decals in the box are correct, one other point, not sure you can see in the photos, but the hull MG was removed. Not sure why, but maybe the photos were taken after the vehicle De-trained and so was removed for traveling?
Good luck!
Paul

Thank you very much Paul! I have seen most from this pics except the rear exausts. I thought it should have some kind of a mess there but never seen it, so decided not to do anything. I will see how i can fix that. It's good that i have not started painting the tank. Thx a lot on the camo info too. As for the right rear escape hatch do you mean the pistol port on the turret or something else? I have a problem with technical terms in English some times. Sorry.
Now as for the MG, from personal experience i know that tanks that are loaded on trains have various items uninstalled, including secondary armament plus the batteries, at least on modern tanks regarding that last one. In the photos above the turret also is turned for showing off purposes, normally it would have been facing backwards and with the main gun down.
Again thank you very much for your time and effort!

Hi John,
You're welcome!
There was an escape hatch on the right side rear of the turret, not the pistol port...there is one photo that barely shows this, the hatch is resting on the upper crew area, the turret is turned with the barrel towards the rear.
It was much bigger than the pistol port...that's why Dragon missed it in their first kit, kinda difficult to see clearly from 60 + year old photos...
Have fun, Paul

Here we go guys. Good or bad this is it. Paul thx a lot for the info but i decided not to add the details missing from the kit, like the escape hatch. It is over my skills to take off those PE zimerit pieces, cut them and make a hatch.... I also tried to do a dried mud look. The weather is too cloudy so the photos are a little dark. Feel free to tell me it sucks just warn me if it is gonna get worse, so i can wear my helmet!
