Does anybody do really *good* resin wheels for the M923A2 (with the CTIS). I've got some nice M923A1 wheels (without it), but all of the wheels with the sidewall ribbing that I've seen seem to have originated with the Ordnance Model set (I've got them variously packaged in Ordnance Models, Accurate Armour and Tank Workshop packaging) which has the right "look" but which appear to be designed to demonstrate some sort of run-flat capability - they're so "bulged" and flattened at the base as to be useless.
Does anybody do resin tires for these that a) have the right "look" and b) approach round? I've been unable to find images of any of the Real Model sets, and the HobbyFan wheels which came with my M936 are nice and round and detailed but don't have the heavy-duty look to them (perhaps because that vehicle doesn't use the standard tire?).
If I'm going to spend too much money on Legend upgrades for all three of the beasts, I at least want decent looking wheels. The M936 and M923A1 are dealt with, but so far I've been able to find anything satisfactory for my M923A2.
Regards,
Al

What's the CTIS ?
I've got the Tankworkshop wheels and they are very nice.
I have bought them to replace the very bad Real Model wheels which have plenty of air bubbles which I wanted to use to replace the Italeri wheels !

I know Real Models are great, but for more options, you may want to wait a bit. When Legend decided to take on the M923 (and the CPK will come later) they said they would do wheels for it as well, but are a little behind at the moment.
How are you liking the upgrade?

Hi Al,
your spaekind about the Italeri kit? Unfortunaly, the kit contains some major dimensional issues. According to the BMY draiwngs I own, the cargo bed is 4419mm by 2438mm on the outside. That makes 126.2mm x 69.2mm in 1/35 scale. The measurements of the kit are 123mm x 66.5mm. Same goes for the width of the front compartment. The drawings say that the width is 2497mm or 71.3mm. 66mm is the kits width.
Just my 2 cents

Yep, I know it's off but at the moment it's the only game in town and it's one of those cases where I've put sufficient money into aftermarket bits for it already that the kits are going to get built, one way or another. For a new tool M923 kit to persuade me away from them would mean throwing away a lot of stuff.
I know this is fairly normal for anybody who tries to make a bad kit good, but with 3 of the beasts in the stash...
Cheers,
Al

I've not actually bought it yet - no money right now, just trying to figure out what I need. Wheels from Legend would be great - might even persuade me to take what was going to be a USMC M923A1 and build yet another M923A2 only this time with the CPK.
The new Legend set looks like a pretty good "one-stop shop" for somebody trying to upgrade the kit. I've already got the Eduard PE for it and the CMK cab set (and the engine for the M923A1) and there's quite a bit of overlap, so I guess I'll just choose whatever looks right. There's even more of a clash with the M936 - that's basically going to just use the details for the wheel wells, since the HobbyFan kit provides everything non-chassis from the cab back, pretty much.
Thanks for the info - not only does this give me a definitive answer, but because they're not out yet, I might actually be able to afford them by the time they're released
