Here's an early look at the Jeep Super Detail set as used on the new Dragon Jeep. A couple of items not in the photos but will be in the final set is the American BC-659 field radio and it's mounting for the jeep. This photoetch set is scaled at 1/72 scale and will fit the Academy and Airfix jeeps. In fact the Dragon jeep is undersized for 1/72 but the added details still look good!

Thanks Anthony. The other 2 sets for the jeep are:
1.) Snow chains and rear cargo rack
2.) Ambulance Jeep

I will announce them on my blog when they are available.
Going on my third iteration to get them right, wish me luck.

Excellent work. I would not be able. I don't like PE parts.

Best regards.

Pedro.

Sonny, I've been looking over your first upgrade set here and I've realized that although very tiny, it is actually constructed in a manner that should make it very easy and straightforward to use. It doesn't seem nearly as intimidating now as it did during my first few glances.

I like the snow chain set as well. Great job on the parts engineering for both sets!

Hi Sonny,

Lovely work, amazing detail. On your website there is mention of the Kubelwagen radio set, is this available at all? I would definitely be interested in that set.

All the best,

Paul

Thanks Anthony. The sets were designed around the Airfix(Heller), Academy and Dragon (as shown in the photos) Jeeps. The Dragon jeep is a bit small (mostly on the length, but a wee bit on the width as well, the guns also feel small) and that's why the details on the rear look a bit crowded.
These would be suitable for the Hasegawa Jeep as well (Academy's jeep is practically the same as the Hasegawa Jeep except for the addition of an engine and some seat modifications).
You can probably use these on the diecast Hongwell 1/72 jeeps as well.

I haven't tested them on the matchbox, fujimi and old airfix jeeps which are all listed as 1/76.

I just remembered that Italeri does a 1/72 jeep as well. I've been trying to get a hold of one to test out but no luck. If anybody has a set that they are willing to part with, send me a PM.

Hi Sonny
Those jeep sets look great (though I prefer 1/76!). I especially like the snow chains. Had you thought of making snow chain sets for other sizes of wheels? Your system looks to be easy to fit to any wheels, provided the etch was the right size.

Hi Chris,
I hadn't thought about that, but it's a good idea. I'll add to the list of potential next release, though I don't have a timetable for when that might be. Which vehicles did you have in mind? As I think specific vehicles will have a specific number of "spokes" on the snow chains. Also this method is only good for small scale.
