I wanted to start a build on a BMP-1, where can I find a quality kit that is wallet friendly?
Thanks for any help

You can find kits - the Dragon one, or the older Esci one; but neither are 'quality'. Both should be wallet friendly ie. cheap. Best to hope for a new Trumpeter one.

I know, maybe I'm crazy, but I was thinking to scratch build it. I'm pretty sure that we'll have to wait for ages before having a good kit. Trumpeter hasn't scheduled yet, maybe Bronco could make it, but it seems to me quite hard that it could happen in a reasonable short time

Anyway if you don't want to wait, you can get the turret from the SKIF or Zvezda BMD-1 or BMP-1 kit, then you can build the hull which seems quite easy to build in plasticard. Track links and wheels can be the Masterclub ones (actually I've already bought them). You can get as a base an Esci or a Zvezda kit, but you should use them only to get some details because those kits are wrong in dimension and shape.
Regarding drawings and references, well there are lots of them in Russian sites

бмп-1

Cheers
