I was wondering what the best source is for add-on details? Buckets, breadbags, etc. 1/35 scale. I have noticed looking at finished models it is the final details that make the difference

Hi Scott

Your question is a little vague since there are a whole variety of add-ons out their, but here are a few links which might help.

Accurate Armour make a lot of diorama accessories:
water and wine bottles
Diorama accesories

Pro-Art have a variety of bags and packs (mostly modern):

Legends productions also make a large range of modern and ww2 accesories, bags and ammo boxes:

As do Real Models (look in accessories, and photos/prints):

Also RB models make some photo etched buckets.

Hope this list helps you find the add ons you were looking for!

Scott;

Hi! This is almost exactly the same question I asked when I returned to the hobby back in 2008-9! I'd been away from styrene and such for over 35 years - left back when kits usually came with a couple - few items to add on, and returned to see builds "buried in stuff"! "Where do I get some of this stuff?"

Turns out that there are lots of accessories kits out - jerrycans, drums, OVM, etc. - resin and styrene options abound. For personal kit, I've found buying a few Dragon figures kits (as I build German - these are German kits, but there are other "brands" out there) created a huge ready supply of breadbags, pouches, cannisters, weapons, helmets, mess-kits and the like. The "Gen-2" kits have some absolutley fine stuff in them. For other things like duffle and packs, more likely you will have to get some resin items.

For buckets... PE buckets are available from a couple of vendors - real metal buckets... who can beat that? Here's one I hung on the rear of an old Tamiya flakpanzer IV wirbelwind... The j-cans are also AM kit (Bronco, I think.....) - bits and kit are where you find them!

PS: It's with certain hilarity when I read reviews carping that a couple of recent Dragon kits - those of the SdKfz 10/5 flak-track, for instance - lack sufficient rifles for all the slots provided in the kits' rifle-racks! As if finding a few more is anything hard to do...

Good (kit and bits) hunting!

Bob
