I'm assembling the Tamiya 1/35 m1a1 tank set, and plan to paint it up in auscam colors like the new m1a1sa tank the australian army has aquired
Anyone know what paints I should use for the colours? Black and olive drab is quite straightforward, but the brown is a pain.

Bill's great ASLAV build log may be worth a look as well regarding 3-tone camo.

The colors are flat black, od green, and military brown.
To build an accurate Aussie M1A1SA, you will also need the Mouse House Australian M1A1 AIM Conversion set and a set of the Bronco T158 LL tracks.
The Tamiya kit isn't an AIM and won't build into an Aussie AIM out of the box. The tracks in the Tamiya kit are the older, solid guide-horned T158 tracks. The kit is also missing a bunch of AIM parts since it isn't an AIM, and there are a few Aussie specific parts not in the kit. You should also add anti-slip coating to the Tamiya kit as all Abrams have it.
A better starting point and much better kit is the Dragon M1A2 SEP and the Mouse House set.

The Australian Abrams (as with all vehicles painted in three tone in the Australian Army) are not painted in Olive Drab. It is a locally manufactured paint called Olive Drab Lusterless, and has no FS number. The closest model paint that was on the market was Humbrol French Artillery Green. Now long gone.
However Mouse House now make a set. White Ensign also makes OD lusterless.

My conversion was originally sold under the MH label, but is now sold via my own website.
