Looks like Skif is coming out with a BTR-55...too bad the base kit is pretty horrible vs the Tamiya T-55

Figures..
Skif actually produces kits of vehicles I am interested in, but with the soft details, sketchy (literally!) instructions, and cruddy tracks they quickly turn into never-to-be-finished shelf queens in boxes laden with aftermarket goodies.
I'll add it to the shelf with the MTLB variants, the BMD's and the T64's
Taking pre-orders now for my stash sell-off in 2022

Mike, I know what your talking about...I took 2 years off from building armor because of the T-64 I built from them. The T-64 is my favorite Russian tank,so I'm hoping the trumpeter kit isn't as awful, but right now the price of it looks to be pretty daunting for a kit that looks to have an incorrect turret on it.

I think that if you intend to build a BTR-T your best choice is to start with the Tamiya T-55 and the SP Designs or Real Model conversion sets. Those are certainly more expensive options but I guess far more accurate too.

Maybe they'll surprise us like Zvezda did with the T-90 and come out with a new mold? One can hope...

Both already on the shelf, unstarted...

Yes, it's true, they make the worst T-55 kit, but we have to consider that the BTR-55 has a quite different hull from the t-55, so this kit couldn't be so bad. It might be enough to chnge the horrible starfish wheels and the track links to obtain a decent model
