Hi all,
I would know if the various pe sets for the academy
cv9040b can be used over the HB version.
The C version,is the same version of the academy kit plus the add-on armour.Of course, this is the major difference and I also know that there are others.
I would know if I can use the set to improve the HB kit so if someone has a pe set for the "B" can he control if the parts are of some use?!
Or I need to wait a dedicated set?
About the last point..are you aware of something to update the HB kit like resin sets or pe sets?!
Regards
Ciro

Hi Ciro,
Iīve both kits but none of the PE-sets. I build the Hobbyboss CV9040C in white colour for the liberia UN mission without the pe-sets. If you want to build a correct version of the 9040C used in Liberia there are some flaws with the Hobbyboss kit and maybe some of this information is useful.
Main problem with the Hobbyboss Kit - the external FN MAG (i think it is an FN MAG?) coaxial machine gun on the turret (between the hatches) ist completely missing. At the moment there is no aftermarket kit available to fix this. You have to do that from scratch.
On the rear is a metal-box mounted instead the ski-sack - but maybe not a problem for your chosen type.
Underbelly armour is missing - you have to thicken it up with sheet.
Suspension arms are a little problem - they are symmetric in the kit, but seem to be asymmetric in real. But that may not bother us too much ;-)
No interior details of the crew compartment - if you want build the doors in opened position.
Some parts of the Academy kit have better details than from Hobbyboss and vice versa. Maybe kitbashing of them would be a good option ;-)
Both Kits have good details and also basic PE-parts in the box. I personally think itīs not a must
to use aftermarket pe sets to build a great model.
Cheers
Walter

Hi Walter,
first of all thank you for the reply!
I'm aware about these issues.I'm pretty sure that soon we'll have the external coaxial machine gun in resin and something about the rear box is still on the market with Djiti Prod.
What I would know is about these areas
and the steel cover of the driver's hatch....
Cheers
