I am currently working on a dio that depicts part of the Normandy decption, the dropping of dummy paratroopers. The U.S. refers to the little guys as "Ocars" and British info has them listed as "Rupert". To make a long story short I am looking for any information as to the size, whether the were of modeled after British, U.S. paratroopers or both. I would greatly appreciate any sort of help

i saw a picture and got a little info on the fake paratroopers on a
documentary i saw on tv.. probably the history channel..Not sure
what they were made of, but they were only about 2 ft tall and didnt
have alot of detail as far as nationality.. kind of looked like toy
paratroopers... hopefully someone can post a pic of one and info on
approximate chute size... your idea sounds like a great one for
detailing a dio... some german troops in the morning light looking
up at one in a tree.. scratching their heads...great idea!

This was called Operation Titanic. Dummies were dressed in paratrooper uniforms, complete with boots and helmets. Here's the best pic I could so far:

If you haven't already seen it, the classic movie The Longest Day has a scene in it where some Germans are inspecting one of the dummies. No real measurements given, but you can compare his size to the guy carrying him.

Thanks for the replies. The idea was developed from "The Longest Day," The dio is a BMW R75 with sidecar, which a soldier has brought a "Rupert" to an officer. The scene was inspired by a village postcard in Normandy and the confusion that these little guys would have created in the early hours of the morning.

From the pic. Kencelot posted it and the link regarding paradummies, that the little guys should be about 2 feet and I think that I will cast an altered 1/72 British paratrooper, minus most of the detail. Since I will not need much detail I will just use hot glue.
