Drybrushing does not use a compressor.
Lighten the base coat with white paint at about a 1:2 ratio (white to base). . Dip a wide brush in the mixture and wipe most of the paint off. When almost nothing shows up on yuor paint rag, LIGHTLY drag the brush over the model. Repeat with 1:1 an 2:1 mixtures with progressively lighter strokes.
The darker the base color, the more striking the effect.

I use dry brushing to simulate paint wearing off metal to show use. Edges, walking areas edges around hatches and hinges and bolts on wheels, same thing as animal does, just a real thin bit of paint lightly brushed over the surface.

I use drybrushing for painting figure faces and also the most common, painting raised details on the model, like AJLaFleche said, you just get a very small amount on the brush, and run it over the model, cheers

Hi. Remember when dry brushing, as with any type of weather process you use, most of the time it's better to use not quite enough rather than too much. A little goes a long ways in the overall finish of your model.
Take care and good luck, sigrty

You do not need a compressor or an airbrush for drybrushing. It is for popping out detail on the model.
Dip the brush in some paint, wipe all of it off onto a paper towel, and then lightly go over the surface.

yes just dip the brush in the paint and wipe it off on a towel.
and when the paint is allmost off the brush then go to the model.
i just dry brushed my whole tank even the flat places and it came out nice,
i read that shep does that so i tryed it it looks good
