I bought some thinner at my local model shop to use with Revell Aqua Colours. I didn't notice until I got home that the assistant had passed me Revell Colour Mix and not the Aqua Colour mix.....DOH!

It does say on the label it can be used with acrylics, but then why would Revell release their Aqua Colour Mix?!

Am I just being too anal as it won't make any difference, or is it worth getting it changed?

Hi

You can use some enamel thinners with some makes of acrylic paint but not all acrylic paints react well with enamel or laqure thinners. When the combination works it works well.

As to why they do both sorts

1 you cannot use acrylic thinners with enamel so if they only made one it would be the enamel thinners

2. Enamel thinners have quite a strong smell, especially when sprayed, acrylic thinners generally have a very low ordure, although there are some exceptions to this rule, Tamiya and Gunze etc.
