Does The latest M113 kit of Tamya ( picture above in the advertising spot) takes 3 or 4 antennas?

As for the number of antenni on a vehicle, it depends on the Number of radios inside. Most have two radios. If it is a command vehicle or fire support vehicle, there will be more, we had some M577 Command Posts Carriers in my battalion in OIF with 6 radios, hence 6 antenni. As for length, the standard antenna currently used is about 8 feet long, breaks down into two sections and is made of fiberglass with a copper core.

Most one piece antennae (is that spelled right?) are right around six feet. That doesn't include the springy mount thinger. They taper slightly from about 1 inch or so at the base to about 1/2 inch at the top and then you got your topper thingy (I like that word) that is about 3 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. It kind of looks like an inverted flower vase. Sabot could probably give you better specs. There isn't any trucks parked outside the office here. (I guess I could go to one of the motor pools, and see if there isn't one still attached someplace.

PZKFWIII: Appreciate the embellished description. "...inverted flower vase.." huh? Gotta love that!
and, "...There isn't any trucks parked outside the office here..."? Are you on a military base?
cdave: Good guesser? Can you do me a really big favour? Can you guess me the winning Power ball number?......Please?? #:-) #:-)

Hey Tread.......
If I did that, my EX-WIFE (and that is in caps for a reason) would have me back in court. You should've seen the summons I got when she found out I have two HAWGs!
But fear not, I have my LOTTO number off to the side! #:-)

Unless they've changed, the M113 series used a common two segment whip antenna with the protector ball on top.

Yes, the M113 and HMMWV use the same antenna for FM radios.
