hello to all modelers
I will make you enjoy my little technical concerant anti-slip.
For that I use the Mr Surfacer 500 or 1000, Acetone and Sodium Bicarbonate.
doses and 50 50/acetone Mr Sufacer.
to delineate areas for protection I use wood glue diluted slightly mixed with a little acrylic paint, after drying to see the demarcated areas.

Sodium bicarbonate looks good for modern antiskid.
Maybe I can use something more grainy for idf antiskid?

No, you made 50/50 with Mr Surfacer and Acetone, and then you add your powder (I use bicarbonate as the result is correct for 1/35, except for vehicles IDF or the larger grain size and there I will propose another technique to retrieve the grain of sand on sandpaper).

I heard of a similar technique, but instead of mr. surfacer you use paint (enamel). You paint the area where you want to add the anti-slip and then, while the paint is still wet you sprinkle the bicarbonate ( or whatever you want to use ). I didn't tried it but I think it's ok.

'Right, I've got it now, thanks a lot for the further explanation. I think I'll made some trials using baking soda, commomn sand and talcum powder. I'd like to buy the Merkava made by Meng so I'll have to do some practice before

Hi All,
My method is using a non toxic household product with acrylic paint as primer and water based wood glue.
The substance used is ground cinnamon and when dry it looks rough and too scale.

It is possible to use haispray as glueing medium. While it was wet, I sprinkled it quickly with chinchilla sand, then sealed it with Surfacer spray 1000. I would use this method only for IDF armor. Its drawdack is that the sand makes a huge mess, so I switched over to Tamiya textured sand paint. It is very controllable and clean. The effect is slightly out of scale, but I want my merkavas to be rough. I will post my progress in a blog soon.
The topic author's method for US antislip seems unbeatable to me.

Don't used salt over unprimered (PE) photo etch. As it will react with the brass of your photo etch parts.

Thanks for sharing your technique. It looks very, very convincing. Apart from 1:35 I am still pondering over a technique I can use in Braille scale.
Anyone with a suggestion?
If I just leave out the soda from your recipe and use Mr. Surfacer 500?
I will try.
