Hi all,
I just purchased a brand new set of bison decals and they seem very yellow to me, well the white bits anyway. What would be the best way of dealing with them?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

I have heard that if you tape them to a window in direct sunlight it will remove the yellow. You have to take care to keep them dry. Never tried it myself. Al

Aren't the decals yellowing in the first place because of UV damage? I would think that direct sunlight would only make the situation worse and fade all of the colors.
Maybe I am wrong?

Hello.
Do not put the decals in the window!
This is from the Bison Decals web site ( www.bison-decal.com ) The advise is from the manufacturer Begemot.
...Some of you might received decals with a yellow tone of the clear laque.
At the time Begemot printed these decals they had some problems with the clear laque they bougt from England.
This make the laque look old after a short time, even if the decal have not been overexposed to air or sunlight.
Good thing are that after the decal been put into water, the yellowing go away, and you can use the decal as usual...
I have given this advise to many modellers who had this problem, and so far I think all have been able to use them on their model.
Best regards,
Johan Lexell, Bison-Decals

Johan,
Many thanks for that information. I am pleased that a manufacturer takes the time to look on sites like ours and address issues that us, the consumer is having. I think your company should be commended on this.
Again many thanks for your candid reassurance.

I've tried with some old Tamiya decal sheets, and everything worked perfectly. I had any problems
So in general the tip seems good unless, as in this case, you have different advise done by the producer
