What is the closest kit to the Dragon M1A2 SEP 1/35 kit? I want to use the Voyager Models accessories and upgrade kits etc with this build.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
On a different note - does anyone have any experience with yahobby.com? Are they legit? Safe to buy from? I cannot find any info on them but they have been around since 2008 or so.

I don't believe there is an alternative to the Dragon kit but I look forward to being proven wrong.

Hi There
In My opinion there is no kit close to the M1A2 SEP by this I mean the quality of detail is second to none Personaly I would try and obtain the DML kit they are around especialy on Ebay, Now for Yahobby I ordered both the AIM and the SEP kit last week and he is now out of stock they refunded me the money the following day So I wouldnt have a problem with ordering from them in the future I ended up puting in about 5Hrs on the net and found an M1A2 SEP from the UK which I purchased for a good price I realy beleive that if you are prepared to work with the Voyager set then be patient and trawl the net and something should come up and go with the dragon kit I hope this helps.
Best of luck Ben.

K so I ordered the Dragon kit from yahobby.com. I hope it is actually in stock. I know I could have asked if it was simply okay to buy from yahobby.com but I did't want a bunch of people going out and buying it before I got a chance to. And in case yahobby was sketchy, then I wanted to know what other kits of similar quality were available.
Now we will see if it gets canceled or anything.
Here is the link if anyone is interested.

I do not know how many they have in stock.

As I expected (but had to try at least) www.yahobby.com didn't have it in stock. You know I see this as a common theme at most online hobby retailers. No accurate inventory. Errr.... frustrating to say the least.
Anyway, good news here. I was on another forum and a member alerted me to an LHS near them that had seen an Dragon 3536 int he store a few days ago. So I called up the LHS in Ohio and they had it. I didn't ask how many they had. I was just happy they had the ONE. Glad to say it is in the mail. Now hopefully it doesn't get lost.
Is Dragon even making the M1A2 SEP kit any more? If not, why not? It seems pretty popular I think.

It depends on whether or not they feel like it's worth the costs. If they don't feel that it's a big seller then it's not likely, at least not any time soon. That said, there is a good portion of the modeling community that would love to see this kit in production again.

I agree with what Jeremy said about "being worth the cost" but it also seems it was not in production for long. Being a modern armor builder I am always interested in seeing the modern pieces on the shelve. With both the AIM and the SEP, but particularly the SEP, it didn't seem to be around long enough to get a good following like all the WWII stuff is.

Hi all
I managed over the last few months to purchase four of each of these kits much to my wifes dismay Im glad I did as on Ebay there is one seller that has an M1A2 SEP For $116.00 minus postage just a real shame I think the reason they were canned is one thay are not German and two they are not second world War Vehicles I could be wrong but in my opinion Dragon Turn out more German Tanks Than one could possibly want or have the room for I hope to see them resurface some time soon Just like the Italeri M109 That some guy was trying to sell on Ebay for $100.00 In my opinion Its a real shame they are no longer available I dont aspire to having twenty King tigers or panthers and even If I owned a space big enough I still wouldnt want paper panzers or or any of their other much Loved German Kits.
Cheers Ben.

Agreed - While Lucky Model has a large selection of products, unless it is marked as "In Stock" chances of getting it shipped anytime soon if ever is slim to none. "Available" mean that their supplier had shipped it to a retailer in the last 30 days. All that tells me is that the supplier had shipped the last of that product to the other retailer who probably already sold it before it hit the shelf.
When I search for something on LuckyModel.com, I set the option to "In Stock ONLY"
