Hi. I've heard that a company called tristar is supposed to be bringing out a new Karl mortar kit that corrects or, is supposed to correct, all the shortcomings of the Dragon kit. Its supposed to have over 700 pieces to it and some PE as well.

Has anybody heard anything about this kit or the company and it's quality? Just curious here.

Yeah, like I need another box to stuff under the bed! But I can't seem to stop the insanity!!!!!!

Thank and take care, sgirty #:-)

don't think it's gonna happen too soon, it was originally planned, then DML cut them short. Their Pz I ausf A late will be released next month though.

I have and and 50% done with my dragon Karl. I thought some things couldv'e been better, but overall it was good. I think some PE would be great for it.

Hi, Tazz. The Dragon kit is pretty nice, but don't pay top dollar for it. Catch it at a good price. It's nice, but this tristar kit sounded like it could have been better, what with the more pieces and the PE included.
It's sort of like comparing the Trumpeter and Dragon K5 kits. Naturally one would think that a kit with more pieces has to be more detailed. I do believe that Dragon has two different calibers of the Karl out now and I have seem somebody offering an aluminum barrel and figures for it as well. Like Pnzr-Cmdr, I would like to see a PE sheet offered here in the future, then I wouldn't mind picking up the other kit and having another go around with it, using the after-market parts.

Take care, sgirty

I built the first dragon Karl,w/ the 60cm gun.
I now have the 54 cm gun version waiting in the wings. As far as detail such as nuts and bolts go,yes,Dragon could have done better. As for Photoetch, that is always somthing to wait for if you want to ,to add on later...
