Hi Guys,

Got an Idea for a campaign, it would be as the title suggets anything that encompass said conflicts from post WW2, it come to me after I didn't meet the requirements for a different campaign. Any type of vechile would allowed as long as we have a photo showing it, it doesn't have to match the photo exactlly just the idea, I.E Technicals, converted gun trucks,Apc, tanks. It could be from any civil war / proxy war. I.e Somila,Yemen,Chad,Indo-china / Vietnam, korea, Soviet invasion of Afganistan, Afgan civil war, Libya, syria, Gongo, Lebalon etc. I was thinking start Dec 1st 2012, finish June 01 2013.
As I have never proposed a campaign before & only just about to enter my fisrt one any idea's, advice or corrections glady welcome.

Cheers Mike

Oh, you'll do fine. We all need to learn and if we stumble at first, then it's all good. Let me know if I can help as I am learning too but as I have found out, it's not that hard.

Our Big Toe is watching over us!

Then I'll be the first to show interest Mike! The more the banter, the more I'll know what to enter?

Mike if you can get this campaign up and running I would be interested in joined. I've been wanting to build something from a leeser know civil war in Transnistria that happen just after the collaspe of the soviet union and only lasted 142 days.

Either way you count me in and I think you only need 10 people to enlist to get approval for the campaign.

Do you mean what appears in the body of the reply? If so, all you do is take a hosted image and copy and paste it in your profile. There is a place for it as well as a signature too.

Okay, we're on the same page now. At the upper right hand corner of this screen where you retrieve your PM's at is a link called "settings", click on it.

Then go to "Modify Profile" (I believe it's the 3rd on from the left) click on that and the third entry of the second box there is a slot called "URL for Signature Image" where you put your hosted image link at.

So get the "image" to your photobucket or hosted website and copy and paste it to the above described area.

Hope I made sense? I just woke up and wanted to get this answered as quickly as possible.

Sure, count me in too! I have no idea what I'd build, but since I love Googling/research, I'll find something. I like building one-offs and this one sounds cool.
Also, to June 2013 works for me!
thanks,

You could always "use" my link, just keep in mind it may get deleted off my account when the Campaign is over.

I generally do a little housekeeping for non-essential images but will keep it active for some time.

Thanks again to Bob (bwiber) for the image.

I would like to join this campaign as well, but 6 months may be too short of a time for me. I was also wondering if partially started builds would be acceptable?

Mike: What I'm referring to by "already started" would be a kit that has had parts removed from the sprue and a few major parts put together. I am asking this as I personally have an old Zvezda/Eastern Express BT-7 kit that I had started a couple years back that I was using Eduard's PE on, but I never made it past the basic hull assembly and a few sub assembly for the turret and such. It would be a good vehicle to use for the Spanish Civil War. I can show you a photo of everything from the box if you like.

That said, this is a question that is often asked as several of us tend to have a few kits that we started but never moved on with for whatever reason, and it's a good thing to clarify whether or not you wish to accept them or not. It's your campaign so it's all up to you what you're comfortable with. Sometimes I allow them in the campaigns I run, and sometimes I don't. I tailor the requirements based on what the intention of the campaign is. Of course when it comes down to it, the most important requirement is to have fun

Any additional time is helpful to me, and I'm sure would be to a good handful of our fellow modelers. Some of us build slow, and others just have busy life situations. However a there are more people who prefer a shorter campaign because it helps keep their eye on the ball and it feels rewarding to take on a project and finish in a short period of time and move on to another. It's all up to you, I'll be joining either way

Hi Jeremy,

I am willing to trust your word that the kit is only advanced as your say, I maybe old fashioned but a mans word is his bond so welcome on board & I would be happy to extent it a month as long as the powers that be agree as I had already submitted the idea just to see if I was doing anything wrong before I started the thread. The only issue was it was going to be a post WW2 build. What if you used it fighting for the Ukrainian separatists in 1946??

Matthew thanks very much for the offer but I have worked out what I will use, maybe someone else may jump at it.

Cheers Mike

All good Jeremy,

Hopefully you will come up with something, as far as I know I think their was also a polish sepratist war as well & my understanding is that their were a few german stragglers / deserters & guys not rounded up by Uncle Joe & the NKVD at that point.

Matthew,

You could always make it & join us?? It will be my first post WW2 build so you wouldn't be the only one outside his area of interest or knowledge.

Cheers Mike
