Can anyone help me with the correct colours of the numbers on LAH Jagdpanthers when in Normandy please. I have seen black and white, red and white, and red and black and as a result I am a little confused as what I should be using.
Thank you for any help

are you sure the LAH used jagdpanthers in Normandy or anywhere else for that matter, i think only the 653 heavy tank destroyer battalion used them in Normandy and i believe their numbers were red and white

Bill I read it somewhere in a book and while I am getting older and my memory is not what it was I have no reason to think it was wrong unless you know otherwise. In the belief that you are correct what other SS units would have had Jagdpanthers in Normandy as I have already painted the crew and what colours would there numbers be?

"In the West, they were first encountered in very small numbers late in the Battle of Normandy, where the German 654 schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung ("654th Heavy Antitank Battalion") deployed about 12 Jagdpanthers against British units."

Bob and Bill are correct, 654 schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung was the only unit to have Jagdpanthers in Normandy. They used the early type mantlet collars and were the first unit to move the tools to the rear.
