How do you make fallen leaves? those leaves that fall during Autumn. What are their colors & what household material can I use to make them. I don't plan to use those expensive Woodland scenics stuff anyway.

Rather than trying to "fake" them, find a dealer who has Hudson & Allen products. These are shaped like real leaves and precolored. I got a pack for about $4 US and there's about half a cup.

One of the AFV Magazines had a dio with two vehicles in a fall setting (I can't remember exactly which vehicles or which issue as I'm at work) but he used real fall leaves chopped up in a blender and the results looked pretty good.

Give parsley a try. That's what I use for my leaves. Other dried hurbs will work too.

I made the trees and I mixed terpentine and oil paints to mix and match fall colors. I painted each leaf and put up to three coats on some. One yellow based, one red based, one brown. Some of the shades were a touch on the brown side.
You can even use hobby paints like Apple Barrel or the like. I think the color scheme depends on the tree and area. I went with a yellow/red/orange scheme. You can go with what you like. I used Yellow, Red, Burnt Umber, Black, White and mixed and matched.

i use silver birch seeds.
they fall from silver birch trees in the autumm, bout this time of year, they are shaped like maple leaves, the exact colour, and are perfectly in scale for 1/35, but can also be used for larger scales too.
im not sure if its a native british species of tree though, i would imagine they grow in most parts of northern europe if we get them here

i use oregano for fallen leafs but u mite have to color then or use red pepper spice or some other spices might work

but was able to grab some catkins off the birch tree.. gave em
a twist and the seed pods are going to work great for fallen leaves.
Not sure if its the same seed you're getting but its gonna work
great for me..Thanks for the idea... now need a way to color them.
Any ideas out there for coloring something like this.. guessing an
airbrush would blow them all over and the paint would just stick

i ve used some times real keaves from plane tree, that i crush in the blender. In autumn the turn out to a lot of colours reddish yelowish silver and anything else , they are very good indeed. I also used acorn tree leaves and they are also very good
