Here is my newest update. I’ve moved onto building the turret. Here I’ve made some changes from the kit. Instead I used the turret from AFV Club’s T-34/85. I’m not a big fan of clear idition models since they look too toy like to me. It has a pretty nice interior in the kit and since I plan to have the hatches open, I wanted to at least have something inside it. Some changes had to be mad to the turret to match the T-44 profiles. The roof above the bustle rack had to be angled some. For this I sanded down the sides of the turret on a flat surface. Also a piece plastic sheet was cut to shape for the new roof part. Another area I’ve changed was the commanders hatch. The newer turret doesn’t have the split type hatch from the earlier T-34/85’s, but instead has a larger single hatch. One last thing I need to do is add the bump in the armor on the side were the gunner sits, but I will have to wait until the halves are glued together.

It looks far better with the AFV turret, I quote your choice.

Really great job so far

Looking good Chris. I missed the detail work on the rear of the hull!

I don't know much about the T-44 but will after this build is completed.
