Hi guys,
Just thought I would share by latest build. It's AFV club's 1/48 Tiger late. Its pretty much built OOB with just the RB barrel, scratch headlight cable and front periscopes added. Painted with tamiya and vejello acrylics and weather with oils and vejello pigments. This is my first completed build since November last year. I just wanted to refresh my painting skills before I tackle painting my 1/16 King Tiger. Its a very nice kit, builds up very well and has some very nice, crisp detail. Highly recommended. The only problem I had was with the decals which just fell apart so I just used a random set I had in the spares box.

Very impressive! I haven't ventured into 48th scale land, but I'm reconcidering after seeing your work. The weathering is exceptional! I'm not sure that the camo would be that muted, but it looks realistic. Are the tracks indi links? I have also had problems with AFV Club decals splintering. I think I am going to pick up some more insignia, number, and divisional masks to aleviate this problem. I look forward to seeing your KT.

Matt,
That's a really nice build. Love your paint job. The 'lightness' of the camo effect is really cool.

Really nice job on the weathering. That is a great little kit, well detailed with molded zimm,in my opinion, better then the 1/48 Tamiya Tiger.

Now, that's a level of weathering that looks credible to me (and I stare at Tiger photos rather a lot).

Thanks for the positive comments guys
Matt, the tracks are the kit 1 piece 'rubber band' tracks. For the medium and scale I think they are very well done so I didn't see any real need to replace them. I would say buy this kit without question, you won't be disappointed. Just make sure you have some spare decals!
John, the 'lightness' of the camo is meant to represent layers of dust on the tank. Originally the decals I chose were for a Tiger in Italy, hence the dusty apperance.
Anthony, totally agree. Both the AFV club tigers beat the Tamiya tigers in almost every area. And they are around 25% cheaper than Tamiya here, a bargain in my opinion.
David, well, if you think that its a credible representation of a Tiger then I know i've done well!
Thanks again guys

Hi Matt
Absolutly stunning! If I didn't know better, I'd thought it was a 1:35 scale. Please keep showing us your work.
Best regards
Jacob
