Very nice review! I'm like you, it's hard to tell on the tracks but I don't think that most people will notice one way or the other once they are painted and weathered. I really like the marking options in this version, it is so nice to see an interesting variety of markings included in an allied kit...and not one bearing the Balkenkreuz!
I was waiting for this review to make up my mind on which version I would want to build and unfortunately it did... both of them!

I'm happy enough with the tracks - the difference in 1:35 scale is tiny and I'm fairly certain they look enough like T-51s to pass muster. The great thing is the grousers actually make sense with these plain tracks! (Big flaw in the "mid" kit was grousers on a tank with T-48s that didn't need them. Lots of pics show the empty bins re-used for other stowage.)
The one gripe I have is the removal of the later hull sides and toolboxes. If they'd left them in the box they'd have a "2 in 1" kit with wider appeal. Still, at least they fixed some of the instructions!

From image 21 it appears that the tracks are T51s because the rubber blocks are thicker on the road side than on the wheel side.
