this is my new 1/48 diorama that was just finished yesterday. i've been working on it for a while and i have entered it into the junior category of the SMA big spring contest. the firefly is from tamiya and so are the figures. i made the tree myself with balsa wood and putty.
i tried to make the ground seem kind of damp by using a glossy varnish, but it doesn't really show up in the pictures very well.
thanks
stan

Nice work on the tank Stan . Did you paint the tracks- I can't tell from the photo. They were all steel so a tarnished steel colour would look good for that ground.
Well done on the tree also although it could do with some roots where it meets the groundwork

That's a good looking firefly. The groundwork is very well done. Are those hobbyboss tracks you used? Have fun at your contest

Hey Stan, nice job all around. One small pick though. 3rd pic down, looks like you have a small gap between the transmission cover and the drive on the left side. If you can't glue it up, maybe a slash of mud or a bush being run over to hide it. Hate to have you bumped at a compatition because of something so small yet an easy fix for you. Still looks good though and being 1/48th scale, heck, I couldn't even see it let alone do something so small.Best of luck when you go and keep up the good work.

Hi Stanley,
Very nice model & dio, love the use of different height & sloping ground, the tree looks great your first time making one like that?
Ditto the remark about hiding the transmisson cover gap, i have seen comp models marked down for that & it would be agreat shame if your's was, really love what you have done!!
Good luck at your comp!!
