Cool! Looks more like the M-ATV but still a nice looking vehicle. I think the tail-gate is the only bit that came from a Humvee.....

cool looking vehicle. not much bigger than a hummer too, separate cargo area as well, not sure if that will be plus or minus, a plus if carrying explosives and extra ammo in the back

AM General's BRV-O is one of six entrants in the JLTV program. AM General submitted the BRV-O by themselves even though they had already submitted a vehicle in cooperation with General Dynamics, the JLTV Eagle. The reporter would have done well to ask why they made that decision, but alas its CNN.

That's a very nice contender.
The issue with many JLTV entries is that their too expensive for the Army and the USMC right now. This issue has been going on and on for some time now.
Sure, the JLTV trucks look cool, beefy, and armored, but at what cost per unit? $500K? $750K? The USMC is hoping for a JLTV around $250K (last I read) so that leaves a lot of the contenders out because they're just too expensive. Industry counters by saying they cannot make a well-protected JLTV around that price range...hence the add-on armor packages. It's kind of like buying a base model and then buying all the extras later instead of buying the top-of-the-line version.
Consider that a fire engine pumper costs around $550K and with all the gear, radios, and equipment inside it'll cost close to or over a million dollars...then one gets a sense of how expensive trucks could cost these days just for one.
The U.S. could sure make a truck but production numbers and other criteria factor into cost.

I would say its safe to agree that this vehicle is not part of the HMMWV family due to its size difference, etc.
It does have some features that make it appear similar....rear bumper, tailgate, hood side latches, even the A-arms on the suspension looks similar.
Looks like a good vehicle.
What thoughts do other website members have?

kinda looks like the offspring of an M-ATV and Humvee. It does look smart though.
